St. Louis is #6 Nationally for Positive Small Business Outlook
Based on over 100,000 respondents nationally, Thumbtack just released their report on small business outlook. On the study released today, St. Louis was ranked 6th in the nation in terms of having a positive (or optimistic) outlook on small business. In the same survey, Missouri ranked second nationwide, behind Georgia. You can see national, state and St. Louis data over the past two years. You can also look by industry, which shows the survey is based on a very broad cross-section of small businesses, including industries like Events, Home Improvement, Personal Services, Professional Services and Photography to name a few. You can also look at demographic subgroups of entrepreneurs on the interactive website.
While the optimism (or sentiment as they call it) is very positive, our region’s friendliness to small business doesn’t fare as well.with the St. Louis metro area scoring an overall C, and the state also getting a C. Both grades similar to 2013.
